The Water and Effluent Regulations Database (BD-NAyE) of the National Water Institute (INA) is the most robust instrument that exists in Argentina for the identification, comparison and evaluation of legal standards related to water quality, liquid effluents, groundwater, etc. At the moment, it covers laws of the City of Buenos Aires and of the Provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Mendoza, San Juan and Chaco. IT’S FREE.
It has an intuitive interface, designed to facilitate the identification of applicable standards (including a map search!). Its value is not so much the access to the actual regulations since there are many paid alternatives, but rather to facilitate its comparison through specific fields and filters.
The BD-NAyE is useful for anyone who works with water and liquid effluents, but It is essential for those who assume the challenge of ordering, from the executive or legislative power, the regulatory mess that exists in some jurisdictions (sometimes redundant and outdated ). It’s important also to develop those regulations that are necessary, for example those related to construction / inspection / blocking of groundwater wells or update water quality levels.
